She said the current mandatory retirement age of 65 – which allows employers
to force older workers to retire – should be abolished, with health and
attitude determining when people stop working.

It comes less than a week after a High Court ruling that the current default
age should remain intact.

Many older people want to work longer to help top up their poor performing
pensions and because their health allows them to.
