The Bayside Exposition Center, shuttered during recent foreclosure proceedings, will reopen this summer under a new manager who will try to revive its trade show business and host new events such as music concerts.
“Our immediate goal is to get traffic and revenue flowing during these next two show seasons,’’ said Tom Ballantine, president of the new manager, the Ballantine Management Group of Virginia. “It’s too soon to predict what the long-term goals for the facility will be.’’
Ballantine was hired by KeyPoint Partners LLC, which was appointed by the Bayside’s new owner, LNR Massachusetts Partners, a ision of LNR Property Corp. LNR took back the property for $11 million in May when its previous owner, Bayside Associates LP, defaulted on its mortgage.
